Kansas City

For Mark's spring break we went to Kansas City, just for a quick weekend trip.  We wanted to see some of the museums, yes we have turned into museum people but I love it.  We got there late Friday, so we just got some food and walked around downtown.  The next morning we went to a WWI monument and museum, we were there for the whole morning.  I finally had to tell Mark that he couldn't read every little detail.  It took us 2 hours to get through the first section and I was getting hungry.  When I'm hungry, I become very irrational.  Mark knew that so we only spent an hour and a half on the rest.  Then we got some amazing Kansas City Barbeque and hit up the outlets.  It was a pretty good weekend,  it would have better if we didn't have to talk in church the next day, but what can you do.

  Picture of Kansas City.

This was from the top of the Memorial Tower.  It was freezing and super windy so
we didn't spend too much time up there.

Maybe my new favorite Propaganda poster.  Mark and I must have the
same humor because we both stopped and giggled at this one.

There are a bunch of these giant badminton birdies, so Mark just had
to have a picture with one.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

Love this man!

We'll be home for Christmas!

Christmas was a little different this year.  I had to work all the way up until the Saturday before and Mark had to work Christmas Eve, we weren't planning on going home this year.  My parents had purchased plane tickets to come see us for 5 days after Christmas.  My wonderful, caring, loveable Uncle Stan had a sudden heart attack that killed him a few days before Christmas, my parents ended up going to his funeral in Oregon the day after Christmas instead.  Therefore, Mark and I were all alone for the Holidays.  It was pretty peaceful and nice being able to do our own thing, but we missed our families.  We ended up doing what any homesick child would do.  We spent Christmas day in Omaha and then at 12:00 a.m. on Christmas night, we left for Utah.  We were planning on leaving really early on the 26th, but we just couldn't sleep that night and ended up packing and leaving.  We took turns driving and sleeping and luckily made it to Utah, safely.  We didn't even tell anyone, because we are just so sneaky.  Well, I guess we told my brother Mark, because he's best at secret keeping and it's dangerous to go on a trip and not tell anyone.  Then I had to tell my sister Jenni, because she and Thaney were going to buy us plane tickets to come home.  I didn't want them doing that and wasting their money, so by telling them we were coming was the only way to stop this kind act of theirs.

We went to Roosevelt for 5 days and then to Logan for 5 days.  We probably should have told someone in the Bennett family that we were coming, because when we got there, we were locked out.  After about an hour, Mark remembered where a spare key was located and we got in the house and crashed.  Boy were they surprised.  We went to Logan for 5 days after that and spent New Year's with the Miller clan.  My mom's reaction to our arrival was pretty priceless and definitely made me feel loved.  It was a Christmas miracle.  Thanks family!
