Beach Boys w/ John Stamos, I went for Uncle Jesse!

The Beach Boys came and did a free concert at a park opening in Council Bluffs.  When I heard that beautiful, John Stamos would also be performing with them, I was in.  The Beach Boys have come to Logan before and as much as a grew up listening to them, I wasn't really interesting in going then.  My whole attitude about going to see them changed when the realism of seeing my childhood crush, Uncle Jesse, was in play, I had to go.  Mark and I went with my friend Jeanne, from work and her daughter.  It was a blast and a really cool setting.  The stage was set up right in front of the Missouri River and the city of Omaha was in the background.  The weather was perfect and the people watching was in full force, Council Bluffs has some great characters.  It was a great evening!

Uncle Jesse is in the black with the red guitar.

I totally remember Jesse and The Rippers, playing
this on Full House.

Personal Progress Ceremony

In my stake they have a little tradition for the YW when they have completed their Personal Progress.  They do a little ceremony, instead of just getting up during sacrament meeting and getting their medallion, they do a little something extra.  I had no idea what to do, but thanks to another YW president and this young women's family, we were able to get it all together.  I love this tradition, boys get a big court of honor when they receive their eagle and the girls should get a little something special as well.

This was the present we made for her.  This way she could always
display her personal progress achievement.

 I simply love this girl!

Birds falling from the sky.

I know I'm not a mother, but because one day I will be.  For Mother's Day, Mark bought me some flowers for our garden and we planted them together.  While I was pushing some dirt over a plant, a baby bird came falling from the sky, well, it came falling from the rain gutter on our roof.  It nearly hit me in the head and  I screamed with complete fear and then Mark and I giggled uncontrollably, our new neighbors must think we are crazies.  Unfortunately, with the two story fall, that poor baby bird did not make it.  Our garden did end up looking much better than it has in awhile.  Thanks for my Mother's Day present!
