If Batman had a Jet, it would look something like this!

Mark and I went to the Offutt air show here in Omaha.  I figured this was something that a little kid would eat right up, but then of course I have a 26 year old husband so it's the same thing.  When we got there, the lines were ridiculously long, so we opted out of going inside the actual airplanes and jets we just walked around.  Hot spot for people watching.  I'm still trying to get a feel for the people here in Omaha, not as white trash as some places in Utah, but still good.  Although the people were good the most entertaining thing to watch was Mark's expressions.  They had a bunch of planes flying overhead doing tricks and he was loving every minute of it.  When the planes were done flying they would come park close to where we were sitting.  It took us a little bit to realize that everyone around us had backed up about 10 feet from the pedestrian boundary line and when we realized this, it was too late.  I had to chase down some of our bags and Mark his hat.  Totally worth it, those jets are powerful little suckers.

I didn't really think about bringing sunscreen with us, so I was frying and getting Mark out of that place was not an easy task.  He had to see the Helicopters before we left.  The Helicopters were pretty cool but the jet next to it was amazing.  It looked like a bat, that would be Batman's ride if he needed to travel by air.  I didn't even know those things really existed, I just thought they were made up for movies like Independence day and Transformers.  The extraterrestrial jets are real , they live and the are the coolest things ever especially when they fly.  It was a good day and I'm glad we left when we did, because I got fried and of course Mark looks all tan and handsome.

Look at the guns on that thing!  This is what it looked like when the wings came up.

This was one of Mark's favorites.  Guys and their toys:)

This is the front part of Batman's potential Spacecraft.  I didn't get one of it flying, but it was so rad.

Granola!

Well Mark has been at school for the past week and a half and my new employment still hasn't received my background check from the state of Nebraska.  I have had to find ways to keep myself occupied, which means doing the only thing I feel somewhat confident in, cooking.  One of the sweetest neighbor girls ever said she was going to make granola, so I found a recipe that looked good to me and we went shopping.  We went to Whole Foods, someday when I'm not up to my eyes in student debt this will be the place I will go.  It's expensive to eat healthy.  We got the stuff and I went to cooking.  My first batch, well I'll just admit I burnt it a little.  The thing that salvaged it was that I had a bunch of nuts in this particular granola recipe and thus it just tastes like roasted nuts (some a little more roasted that others).  My second batch was much better.  I found out something pretty interesting today.  I needed to buy honey to put in the granola, and I bought local honey.  Did you know that buying local honey will help with your allergens.  Because the bees use local plants to pollinate, thus it helps build some sort of immunity.  Neat fact of the day.  So far the allergies have been good here.  The recipe calls for sesame seeds, while I was making it I could not find the sesame seeds.  I looked at my list and saw that I didn't check it off but I thought I remembered getting a bag of them.  I didn't want to ask my neighbor if she had them because if she didn't I would feel sheepish, and also I was a little too shy to ask.  Ends up she did have them and being the angel she is, she brought them over just in time for me to them in the second batch.  All in all it has been a good day, just wish I could start working, guess I'll make the best out of the time I have.

Recipe for granola (not a real recipe just used what I liked the most, and mixed it all until in tasted good)
Rolled Oats
Pecans
Almonds
Walnuts
(I crushed all of the nuts)
 Sunflower seeds
Sesame seeds
Pumpkin seeds
(mixed all of these together)

Maple Syrup
Honey
Little Brown Sugar
Sprinkle of Cinnamon

Cooked at 325, for about 20-25 min.  I took it out about half way through and mixed it all up.  Put it on a cookie sheet.  It is pretty good.

Unofficially employed and temporarily unemployed.

So I've been trying to find a job, someone has to be Mark's sugar mama while he's in school (I probably won't make enough to technically get called a sugar mama, but I'll make more than him).  After my 1st interview I got the job I wanted, I guess I'm just too likeable and charming.  I've always done good in interviews, which is strange because I'm pretty shy and in interview situations I always get so shaky that I literally have to bite my tongue to keep my mouth from shaking.  The job will be working at a school and that's exactly what I want, coming home for Christmas and a little bit in the summer, who could ask for anything better.  Well the problem is it started last Wednesday the 17th and my background check for the lovely state of Nebraska has not made it's way back to the school district and I can't be completely hired until they see I'm clean.  Thus I am unofficially employed and temporarily unemployed.  Mark started school on the 15th and I have been stuck in the apartment.  All the mom's in little BYU go outside with their children and talk with the other mom's.  I would love to join, but the problem is I am without child, and feel awkward joining the clan.  I really hope my papers come soon.

Sweet home Omaha

So we think we want to create a Blog, so our family can keep updated with what's going on with us.  So far I have somewhat created the page and nothing else.  Tallie was right these blog things take a lot of work.  Knowing that I am currently unemployed I should be able to keep up with it.  This is my desperate attempt.  We'll see what happens next.
